Coffee by Jeff Bogle (from Issue 3)
Do you want to maybe get a coffee sometime?
I don't drink coffee.
No no, no, me neither. Me neither.
Soooo you asked me out to get something you don't want to get for yourself?
When you put it that way, it seems super weird.
It’s totally weird.
What if I said yes?
What do you mean?
What if I said yes, what would you have done?
Would you have just sat there and watched me drink a coffee?
To be honest, I hadn't thought it that far out.
Sorry it's been a long time.
It’s been a long time since you had coffee?
No, hah, no no, a long time since asking someone out.
It totally doesn't show.
I’m going to try again.
May I take you out for lunch sometime?
Do you eat lunch or is this gonna be coffee part two?
Hah no, I mean yeah, I eat lunch. Not every day, but I will on the day I'm out for lunch with you, I mean if you say yes, although I'll probably eat lunch that day with or without you.
So it doesn't matter if I'm there?
Sorry, now I'm just being mean.
Yes, I'd love to have lunch with you. When?
I find middle of the day is often best.
Which day would you like to have lunch with me?
Every day, ideally, but that might be a bit too forward.
A bit, yes.
Let's start with one lunch, on one day, and go from there.
How about today, if you don't already have lunch plans?
You’re really getting the hang of this. I kinda hope you end up never having to do it again. 12:30?
