In addition to being a working travel writer and photographer, Jeff is a proud dad to a pair of teen daughters, a husband, son, and brother, European football obsessive, music lover, bread baker and amateur home cook, cat dad, home economics star student, and decent human being. KATIE SCHMELING
Katie Schmeling is the editor for Stanchion Books. She has been editing books of all kinds since college, when she finagled the world’s best student gig: Editorial Assistant at the University of Iowa Press. The Press was in a little two-story stone house on campus and Katie had a small round table at a window in the upstairs office of the managing editor. Some of the happiest hours of her life were spent at that table.
While her life and career took Katie into a very different direction than her publishing dreams, her love of reading and editing persisted, and she has been editing in her limited free time for twenty years.
As Books Editor at Stanchion, Katie feels lucky every.single.time she opens a new manuscript. Her mission is to ensure that every Stanchion author puts their best, truest book into the world.
Katie lives, writes, reads, runs, cooks, reads, works, reads, parents, advocates, votes, reads, and edits in Leesburg, Virginia.
